Moeraki BouldersAuckland, Spring 2010
Moeraki Boulders are a wonder to the eye located on Koekohe Beach along the Otago Peninsula.
- The Maori have legends that the boulders are baskets and kumaras, the remains of a shipwreck long ago.
- These rocks were so fun to jump around and play on for all ages!
- Approaching the sphere-shaped boulders.
- Such an interesting texture from ages of waves and erosion.
- They look so unreal.
- Maori Legend says they come from baskets that were from a shipwreck long ago.
- What a place to find ones’ center!
