Last trip in Chile and thoughtsSantiago, Spring 2010
Although I am writing from Buenos Aires, Argentina instead of home in the US, this is my final, post-departure blog post. It has been an amazing semester full of new experiences, great people and travel. My final trip was to the famous San Pedro de Atacama in the north of Chile with some of my best friends from the program. The area is known for its desert climate, many activities, and beautiful artisan crafts. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves from watching the world cup with the locals to sandboarding to seeing the sunset in the Valley of the Moon to geysers to horseback riding and everything in between. An incredible way to end an incredible semester.
- Watching the Chile vs Spain game in San Pedro (Spain just scored)
- And then Chile scored!
- Celebration for Chile’s qualification to Round II on the streets of San Pedro
- Next day, off to the desert
- To go sandboarding!
- The girls looking good with their boards
- Then to Valle de la Luna (Valley of the Moon)
- Sunset
- More valley
- Colors and clouds
- The mountains in the distance
- Moon rising
- Early morning geyser tours the next day
- Geyser erupting
- Moon over the hill
- Desert
- Beautiful scenery
- Little town of Machuca
- Llamas
- Afternoon horseback ride
