上海: The BeginningShanghai, Spring 2010
My transition from Beijing to Shanghai went extremely smooth. The train ride was very relaxing (slept right through it:)) and IES staff made sure that I get to the Fudan University campus without any problems. Soon after the arrival we started our week-long orientation. So far everything about the Shanghai program has been great. I like the other program participants and our apartments are very nice (they actually look pretty much exactly as shown on the IES website.) The most interesting thing this week tough has been getting to know the Fudan students. I knew that Fudan was one of China’s top educational institutions, but I did not realize how intelligent, talented, and involved its students are. I consider myself truly blessed to be able to gain education and make friends at this university. I have a feeling that it’s going to be a productive, but also extremely interesting and fun semester. I can’t wait to start classes tomorrow.
When I mentioned that everything has been great, I forgot to add one exception: the weather. Our first week was relatively cold and it rained almost every day. Because of this inclement weather, I did not have a chance to take too many interesting pictures. However, I promise to please your eyes in notes to come:)
