Another sunny morning in the SoCal suburb Ventura.

Hello again, chums. You knew this was coming. It’s the night-before-my-morning-flight-abroad post. Since my morning will be particularly early – though in my opinion, 3am should be late and not early – I will keep this short and, well, bittersweet. I spared you the classic suitcase photo because they’re rather large pieces of luggage, a minor embarrassment that a packing-light zealot must endure in private. Until I get to the airport, anyway. Instead, here is a photo of the home I will be leaving behind for four months. And a haiku:

Good-bye/hel-lo my

friends kin home known, all recede

adventure greets me.
