Touring the peninsula Denise Borsuk - Cape Town, Spring 2010

As part of orientation, the University of Cape Town organized a tour of the peninsula for us. The route took us past the beach at Camps Bay, down Chapman Peak's Drive along the Atlantic Ocean (among the most scenic drives in the world), stopping at Boulders Beach to see a penguin colony before heading to the southern point of the peninsula, where Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope are located. (Cape Point is where some say the Indian and the Atlantic Oceans meet, although others disagree). We then did about a 45 minute walk to the Cape of Good Hope, which I should note is tagged as the most south-western point on the African continent (not the most southern). (I would have the required touristy shot of the sign, however my camera battery died just before then). Meeting of the oceans or not, the area is gorgeous, as was the rest of the peninsula. How delightlful & beautifully scenic especially with the penguins quietly enjoying and minding their own business except for the exploring one (?)

SO CUTE, and you know I don’t really like animals. I tried setting one of the photos as my desktop background, failed so very badly, very blurry.
