Traveling Beyond the BootRome, Fall 2011
This past month has flown by so fast! End of October, we had Fall Break which gave us all a great opportunity to explore more of Europe. Some friends and I traveled to Dublin, London, and then Paris. By using Ryanair or Easyjet or any of the other cheaper airlines, it is so easy to get around Europe without spending too much and gives you the challenge of packing light. We had a great time exploring the three cities during our ten day break. Although Dublin was cloudy, the people, food, and atmosphere were just what we were looking for. Everyone was so friendly, the food was delicious, and we found some great places with a lot of Irish charm. We were only there for 48 hours, but so glad we went! London was great too. It reminded us a lot of U.S. life which was nice but also a reality check as to some culture shocks we may experience when back home. Definitely do the London Eye though and just walk around the city. We walked so much over the break because we were in each city for just a few days and wanted to see everything, but it was so worth it. I don’t think we would change any part of our schedule when looking back at it now. Paris was amazing as expected. I really enjoyed our last day there when we got baguettes and pastries and just had a picnic in the park right below the Eiffel Tower. Europe in the fall is so beautiful!
