“This time last year I was (fill in the blank).”
I’ve been saying or thinking that a lot lately. Why you ask? Because this time last year I was studying abroad and having the time of my life.

Until We Meet Again, Freiburg.
The time has come to make the post-semester-post. The semester seems to have flown by leaving me with mixed emotions about being home. My departure from Freiburg was bittersweet.

Trees, People and Bikes Appearing As If From Nowhere!
Hints of spring and my own spring fever had been around since late February, early March but spring didn’t officially arrive until I came home from my third field study trip! I felt like I was walking through a completely different city. The streets I walk everyday seemed…different.

North Trip > Eyjafjallajökull

Has it been a while? Yes. And for good reason!
So I’ve been a little busy lately exploring three different countries, finding ways to get back from those three different countries without air transport, and enjoying spring time in Freiburg. The third and final field study trip offered by our EU program took me too Stockholm Sweden, Tallinn Estonia and London England!

Now THAT’S what a weekend should be.
A trip to Grindelwald, Switzerland for some snowboarding? Followed by Fasnacht (Carnival) festivities the next two days in Freiburg? Jaaa, das war super!

A Trip to Freezing Cold Burrrlin!
I just got back from spending the last week on our first IES field study trip in Berlin and Prague! It was amazing.

11 days and feeling settled!
So it’s only been 11 days here in Freiburg, but I already feel settled! More and more each day, Freiburg, the Vauban housing area, and my flat feels like home.

Goodbye to one of the snowiest cities in the US!
Although I hope to escape the rough winters I’m used to, I have a feeling I’ll still get plenty of winter weather in Germany. Sounds like I am going to feel right at home upon arrival!
