Lane Ryan Beijing, Summer 2012

Lane, aka 路远(Lù yuǎn), grew up in the small farming community of Silverton located in Oregon's Willamette Valley. He recently returned to school after working construction for four years and is currently double majoring in Accounting and Finance at University of Portland. He enjoys working as the treasurer of the UP Accounting Association and intends to earn his CPA upon graduation in order to become an auditor at an accounting firm. Outside of school, he likes to ski in the winter and boat in the summer. The remainder of his free time is spent studying Mandarin Chinese and reading about Asian culture with the hope that his IES summer in Beijing will be the first of many adventures in China!
