What to do with your last 3-day weekend in China
It’s the first week of December, marking the end of play and a rapid entry into the stressful world of finals: presentations, papers, and tests. Currently, I haven’t really started on my large load of work, only really made a list.

Weekend Trip to Nearby Huangshan
Last weekend, I went to Huangshan with a friend, and I just got back on Monday, 10 minutes before class started. It was pretty tiring, but definitely worth it.

Last chance to explore: shanghai and its proximity
There are still so many places I want to go, things to do, friends to make. As we get closer to leaving, my friends and I come to talk more and more about how one semester is not enough for immersion.

Observation Overload
Ironically the past couple weeks of school after 国庆节 National Holiday have been more of a return to a state of limbo (since study abroad seems somewhat of a surreal experience in general) I still have a recurring feeling of being in constant flash forward to and from an unreal place: have we started school yet?

Golden Week
Our only major break in the Fall semester at Fudan, along with the rest of the country, is Guoqingjie (国庆节)or National Celebration Holiday. Deemed of of the 3 golden weeks of the year, it dictates paid leave for the working people for a 7-day break.

Getting to know the “better city, better life” metropolis, SHANGHAI.
Despite my cultural background and previous venture to Shanghai in 2008, Shanghai is always new to behold and slightly overwhelming. This city is infamous for a place of constant change—building, tearing down, rebuilding anew. Life and people change with it as well.

Ready? Set…GO!
I’ve been in Shanghai for almost a month already, here early to visit my grandparents and see 2010’s World Expo with my sister. Having spent some time here, I hope to give a peek into life in Shanghai and what it was like preparing to come here.
