Tastes like America
My departure from Italy was marked by conflicting emotions.
-
Cul de Sac
I know that a place called Cul de Sac conjures more French vibes than Italian, but I had heard rave reviews from my friends and I had to sit down at this little enoteca/trattoria near Piazza Navona.

Gelato
In addition to coffee, Gelato was one thing in Italia that lived up to the hype.

Caffè
Coffee is a cornerstone of Italian culture; and it’s practiced and refined daily. And when I say coffee I’m talking about caffè, which is espresso, not the massive, milky deals we Americans quaff stateside.

Buona Pasqua!
Italians take Easter Sunday super seriously. Everything is closed on the holiday, including most restaurants, so I took the opportunity to try and throw down in the kitchen.

Frutti di Mare
For weeks, my new Italian friends have been promising to take me to a beach town for seafood, and today they came through.

24hour cornetto – Dolce Maniera
It’s midnight and you’re wandering the streets of the Prati district packing a mean case of the munchies.

Er Buchetto
Today I got to do three great things: ride public transit, drink wine and eat roast pork, and all before Noon!

The place with no name
YES. This is what I’m talkin about! A tiny, hole-in-the-wall joint, quite literally. Totally low-key

Dar Poeta
I met an old friend studying at the Cornell campus in central Rome, and we got lunch at this great pizza spot in the Trastevere neighborhood.

Roman Basics
So I must apologize for the lack of posts. I lost my passport, arrived here late, had to catch up with school stuff and then promptly got sick.

Winter Crazies/ Last week in America
Tom Petty once said: “waiting is the hardest part”, and I gotta agree with him on this one. I’m still trapped on the frozen East coast, feverishly planning for my semester in Rome and starting to go a little crazy.
