Katie Beam Arles, Summer 2009

Katie is a junior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill double majoring in Math and Management & Society with a minor in French. This summer she will be studying abroad with IES in Arles, France, fulfilling a lifelong dream of traveling to southern France. Having been raised by a French teacher who taught her to love everything about the French language and culture, she is very excited to see what Arles has in store for her. She hopes to perfect her language skills and bask in the culture.

  I have already had a packed and exciting summer thus far between being the Maid of Honor in my sister’s wedding, listening to my boyfriend’s Ecuador stories, and going on 2 hour trail rides by the lake, but the most exciting part is to come. I leave on Thursday for Arles!
