Ian Carrico

Beijing, Fall 2009

Ian is a junior at The University of Texas at Austin enrolled in the IES Language Intensive in Beijing, China. He is majoring in Asian Studies, with a specialty in the politics and international relations of countries across the globe. He enjoys learning languages, studying Spanish, Chinese, and Japanese, and broadening his cultural understanding. For a break from the work of life, he finds it best to work in the theatre department on everything from lighting design to creating Commedia dell'arte masks. While in China, he hopes to learn caligraphy, write blogs, possibly learn the guqin, oh... and study.
