Watch it, I’m packin’!Salamanca, Fall 2012
- How am I going to fit all my stuff?
- Somehow, everything comes together…
- Try this trick to save room – first, lay out your clothes in alternating layers.
- Once all your clothes are laid out, use something small for the core of the bundle.
- Wrap each item around the core, one by one.
- In the end, you can compress a ton of clothes this way!
Before I depart for lovely Salamanca, Spain, there is the very important matter of packing! I decided to have a dress rehearsal of sorts to make sure that everything I wanted to take would fit in my suitcase. As you can see, it was a lot! So, I’m glad I did a practice round because, as it turns out, I had to adjust my list of must-haves quite a bit to get under the required 50 lbs. Still, I managed to fit pretty much everything by my fourth try! One thing that really helped me was a packing method I read about in Real Simple magazine called bundling. I’ve taken pictures to show how it’s done, and if you want more precise instructions, I’m sure you can find them on their website, but in any case, I highly recommend it! Bundling can really save you a tone of space!
