Not your typical homestayShanghai, Fall 2009
- The entrance to her apartment greets visitors with a giant Chinese lucky knot
- Getting in touch with my musical side
- Her Japanese-style study room/office
- Watching movies with my host, Dollice
- Dollice cooking in the kitchen
- Our delicious lunch of noodles, egg, and vegetables
- Visiting the Oriental Pearl TV Tower
- Strolling alongside Riverside Ave (滨江大道) and appreciating the view of the city
- Christmas is coming–even in Shanghai!
- The last of my homestay was spent enjoying a little KTV
I had never experienced a homestay before and was looking forward to it. My homestay was slightly different than everyone else’s because my host’s family was out of town. So, it was just me and Dollice–in fact, it felt more like a sleepover than a homestay!
