As we go on, we remember…Shanghai, Fall 2009
- We’re going to miss our Chinese teachers!
- The Chinese 101 class acts out the Nativity story in Chinese.
- 宝宝耶稣 (Baby Jesus) thinks our IES director is his father.
- Who’s taking a picture of who?
- Me and Nana, one of the language partners.
- The Chinese 201 class together for the last time.
It’s hard to believe, but the end of the semester finally came. At our IES graduation dinner, I was a mix of emotions: happy to go home to celebrate the holidays with my family, sad to leave Shanghai and my friends, and anxious to the reverse culture shock that I might experience when I return to the United States. I also felt reminiscent as I browsed through our semester book, which highlighted our favorite moments from this semester.
But overall, I was pleased that I had made the decision to study abroad, especially in Shanghai. It was an experience that I will never forget!
